November 8th, 2025
Vibrant autumn foliage, a pair of wide blue eyes, and the crisp stillness of a November dawn. This intimate family session was a raw, heartwarming transition into parenthood stripped down to its absolute most beautiful essentials.
Aly and Walker decided early on that letting these fleeting, early months slip by without documentation wasn't for them. They craved the quiet beauty of the changing seasons, a sense of continuity, and an experience completely focused on welcoming baby Baker into their world. A chilly, sunlit Shawnee Mission Park provided the ultimate nostalgic backdrop for their first official portraits as a trio.
The morning was crisp and expectant, the vibrant fall leaves offering a brilliant contrast to the early morning chill. They embraced the striking contrast of their past chapters—from engagement to pregnancy—and the current, breathtaking reality of a few-months-old son full of wonder and effortless smiles. There were no rushed timelines or predictable baby photography tropes to adhere to, allowing me to simply document the striking contrast of their protective, cooing love against the vast, untamed environment of the park.
After the moving portraits, they sought refuge on a familiar lakeside bench, replicating a cherished shot from their engagement days, but this time with Baker cradled between them looking out at the water. It was an incredibly grounding morning, proving that sometimes the most meaningful celebrations require nothing more than a new addition to an old view, and a love that continues to grow.
